Impact: • No impact to existing customers as their current version will continue to work • Customers will need to purchase a license for future upgrades • Graceful shutdown for Windows and Linux will remain available without a license PowerChute features – out of the box Single, Redundant/Parallel & Advanced UPS Configuration Centralized management via SNMP SSH actions (Script storage shutdown) Standalone ESXi Host shutdown Command file integration Enhanced SSL Certi?cate handling for PKI Event logging Environment Windows Linux Standalone VMware ESXi host PowerChute features – licensed Includes out-of-the-box features PLUS Hyper-V, SCVMM vSphere Cluster Services (vCLS) VM Shutdown, Startup, Migration, Prioritization Cluster Shutdown/Startup Host maintenance mode and shutdown vSphere 7.0 and above managed by vCenter VMware vSAN including Stretch Cluster Cisco HyperFlex HPE SimpliVity Nutanix Nutanix AHV and ESXi Dell VxRail including Stretch Cluster HCI and virtualization support is only available with PowerChute license. Examples: 1. HPE SimpliVity cluster with 2 compute nodes requires 2 licenses. 2. Nutanix AHV cluster of 3 hosts, with PowerChute installed on a Windows machine outside the cluster, requires 3 licenses (corresponding to the number of hosts). No license is required for the Windows machine where PowerChute is installed. 3. vSAN/VxRail Stretch cluster with 4 hosts in total – 2 vSAN Nodes, 1 Management Node and 1 Witness Node, requires 3 licenses corresponding to the vSAN & management nodes that are compute nodes – the Witness Host/Node is not a compute node running VMs and does not require a license. 4. No license is required in case of standalone ESXi host not managed by vCenter |
